Video Tours

What is DIG64? (rm, 1.8MB, :34)
The DIG64 is a set of technical guidelines that define hardware, firmware, and operating system compatibility for Itanium™-based servers.
Benefits of DIG64 to IT (rm, 3.5MB, 1:12)
DIG64-compliance broadens the choice of applications available to IT managers. When a DIG64 compliant solution is implemented, a single set of hardware can seamlessly run multiple operating systems, with full compatibility and interoperability.
DIG64 End-to-end Solutions (rm, 4.8MB, 1:30)
DIG64-compliant solutions provide an end-to-end solution, from IO drivers to IO hardware. Assured compability and interoperability reduce total cost of ownership and speed development time.

Related Specifications

EFI Specification (Extensible Firmware Interface)
The EFI specification defines a model for the interface between operating systems and platform firmware. EFI provides a standard environment for booting an operating system and running pre-boot applications. EFI is primarily intended for the next generation of IA-32 and Itanium(tm) Architecture-based computers.
ACPI Specification (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface)
ACPI establishes industry-standard interfaces for OS-directed configuration and power management on various platforms including servers. The specification enables new power management technology to evolve independently in operating systems and hardware while ensuring that they continue to work together.
SAL Specification (Itanium™ Processor Family System Abstraction Layer). The SAL specification specifies requirements for developing platform firmware for Itaniumô-based systems. It is intended for firmware designers, system designers, and developers of diagnostic and low-level operating system software. The EFI Specification describes additional interfaces that must be implemented to access devices on the platform.
